We've added a finer fidelity of choice of communications you are able to receive from ecycler.

From the dashboard (discarder or collector) click on the "My Account" link. Under the Communications header, you will have the option to check (Opt-in) or uncheck (opt-out) of any of the following options:

- Occasional marketing materials (newsletters, offers, etc.)
- ecycler website alerts
- Special announcements
- Friend invite accepted

More options will be added in the future.

ecycler has two users, Collectors and Discarders. Discarders make recyclables available from the home or business and Collectors pick up recyclables from discarders. Collectors redeem or sell the recyclables to a buyback or recycling center of their choice.

If you are new to ecycler here is how to get started as a Discarder...

The next step is go to ecycler, click on “Give away recyclables” and post a bag of recyclables. If you don’t have recyclables ready, we still ask you to post the choice: “I don't have recyclables right now but am willing to save them to give away, please contact me”. By choosing this, prospective ecycler collectors will see your posting and contact you via the site to pick up the recyclables. This way, you can continue to recycle the way you currently do and possibly switch to an ecycler collector when one contacts you.

If you are new to ecycler here is how to get started as a Collector...

Start marketing yourself locally with your poster or business cards that can be downloaded and printed from your dashboard on ecycler.com.

To attract residential customers--typically those who live in single family homes--we suggest placing your custom poster in coffee shops, grocery stores or any place that community postings are allowed.

To attract commercial customers we suggest that you contact them directly and provide them with a business card and your poster. You can direct them to your ecycler profile and point out your positive feedback that you may have received through numerous ecycler transactions to indicate that you are a reliable collector. In many areas single family residential homes have single-stream recycling (aka the city provided recycling bins). In these areas you may have more success approaching condos and businesses and arrange with the manager to collect the recyclables from the building.
